- how many years the company has been trading
- company’s worth – assets, profits and turnover
- business status – whether the company is actually trading
- whether the company is in a liquidation process
- lawsuits against the company
- unpaid debts
- name, nationality and address of the director(s)
- directors’ professional history – bankrupt companies in the past
